Jamnagar: The Panchkoshi B Division police apprehended the accused in-charge branch manager of Punjab National Bank, Dared GIDC branch, for installing a spy camera in the women’s washroom of the bank.
The police nabbed Akhilesh Saini on Tuesday, who hails from Haryana and had been evading arrest after taking a leave of absence from the bank. Saini had been on leave ever since the discovery of the spy camera in the women’s washroom at the Dared GIDC branch. Subsequently, the police filed a case under IPC section 354(c) and revoked his leave. This led to his capture while he was attempting to resume his work. The investigation is ongoing, and the spy camera as well as the CCTV footage of the bank is now under the custody of the police.
As per the police complaint, on August 10th, a female employee at the Punjab National Bank branch near Mahaveer Circle in Dared GIDC, Jamnagar, discovered a concealed camera positioned above the restroom door. Given that the regular manager was on leave, Akhilesh Saini was overseeing the bank operations. The female employee approached him, advising him to report the incident to the Human Resources Department. However, Akhilesh Saini purportedly admitted to installing the camera and expressed remorse to the female employee. He confessed that he had placed the spy camera in the women’s washroom on August 7. Later, the woman filed a complaint with the police after which Saini was on the run. DeshGujarat
