Chamber of Commerce seeks dedicated bus service connecting Rajkot to Hirasar airport

Rajkot: Operations of flights from existing airport of Rajkot city shall shift to new airport at Hirasar which is located outside the city. In view of this, Rajkot chamber of commerce, a trade body representing local businessmen, has appealed to the Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel to provide a dedicated public transportation facility to Hirasar Greenfield Airport from various areas of Rajkot city.

It’s worth noting that the outgoing airport is located within the city, while the new airport where all the flights are going to be shifted from September 10 is located outside the city on the highway to Ahmedabad.

The distance between Rajkot city to Hirasar airport is around 30 kms. The Chamber of Commerce has demanded a dedicated bus service connecting various areas of the city to Hirasar airport. The Chamber has also appealed to make pick up and drop points of the buses at 150 feet ring road, Race Course, Bhaktinagar circle, and Greenland chokdi on the route connecting Hirasar airport to Rajkot city.

The new international Greenfield Airport at Hirasar will start operating from 10th September. The Chamber of Commerce has appealed to build an overbridge on both sides from National Highway to Hirasar airport to prevent traffic issues, so that commuters may not miss flights due to traffic.
