All districts to get 10 hours agri power supply: Gujarat govt
August 31, 2023
Gandhinagar: Gujarat government has decided to give 10 hours power supply in agricultural sector to all districts across the State instead of earlier announced 14 districts.
Two days ago, Energy minister Kanubhai Desai had made announcement that farmers across 14 districts shall get two hours additional power supply due to delay in rainfall in the month of August. It’s worth noting that August 2023 was driest month in terms of rainfall in last ten years.
The choice of 14 districts was made in view of vulnerable crops cultivated there. However in a fresh announcement today, the State government has declared 10 hours power supply for Bhavnagar, Porbandar, Gir Somnath, Botad and Morbi districts from 2nd September.
All other remaining districts shall be supplied agri power for 10 hours from 5 September. The earlier announced 14 districts will get 10 hours power supply from 1st September. DeshGujarat
