Rajkot: In a decoy trap on Tuesday, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat nabbed one Sujay Dheerajlal Thummar, a village computer entrepreneur (VCE) of Gundasara Gram Panchayat in Gondal Taluka, in a bribery case of Rs. 180.
The ACB had received a tip-off that Thummar, working as Gram Sevak (VCE), was charging farmers around Rs. 10 to Rs. 20 instead of the government fee of Rs. 5 for providing various forms such as Form No. 7/12 and 8-A.
On Tuesday, with the cooperation of the local decoy, a trap was set up. According to the trap, the decoy went to get some copies of Form No. 7/12 and 8-A. The VCE generated a total of 36 computerized copies and accepted Rs. 360 in the presence of a witness, where Rs. 180 was for legal fees at Rs. 5 per copy, making Rs. 180 for 36 copies, and an additional Rs. 180 for his own personal financial gain.
He was caught red-handed while accepting the extra money, and the Rajkot Rural A.C.B. Post has registered a crime accordingly. The accused has been detained, and further proceedings are underway. DeshGujarat
