Supplier of adulterated ghee for Ambaji prasad found dead in apparent suicide

Ahmedabad: Jatin Shah, the owner of Neelkanth Traders, who allegedly supplied counterfeit ghee for the Mohanthal Prasad at the renowned pilgrimage site of Ambaji, was found dead in an apparent suicide at his residence in Isanpur, Ahmedabad.
Details indicate that 47-year-old Jatin Shah resided in Saujanya Society in Isanpur. Today, around 10 am, when his wife attempted to wake up him up, she found that Jatin Shah had strangled himself in the room.
Upon learning about the incident, the police arrived at the scene. The motive behind Jatin Shah’s tragic decision is not yet known. Currently, the police have transported Jatin Shah’s body for post-mortem and initiated further legal procedures.
It is worth noting that Mohini Caterers, responsible for preparing Mohanthal Prasad for the Ambaji Temple, received 300 cans of adulterated ghee from Neelkanth Traders in Madhupura, Ahmedabad. Upon investigation, the ghee was confirmed to be fake. Subsequently, Jatin Shah, the manager of Mohini Caterers and owner of Neelkanth Traders, was arrested.
However, during Jatin Shah’s appearance in the Danta court, he was granted bail of Rs. 10 thousand. Upon release, Jatin Shah asserted that he had been wrongly accused and engaged only in trading. He claimed to have obtained the quantity of ghee from a person named Dushyant Soni of Paldi.
During the Bhadravi Poonam Mahamela in Ambaji, the samples of ghee taken by Mohini Caterers, responsible for preparing Prasad for devotees, were found to be substandard. The investigation seized 2820 kg of adulterated ghee, leading to a complaint filed by Saber Dairy against six individuals, including Mohini Caterers, the agency producing Mohanthal. DeshGujarat
