Arjun Modhwadia, Ambarish Der from Gujarat Congress upset with Congress decision to boycott Ram Mandir’s inauguration function

Gandhinagar: Is the senior Congress leader, former Gujarat Congress chief and former leader of opposition in the State assembly, Arjun Modhwadia upset with the Congress party? Will he join ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) eventually? Such speculations sparked off this evening after Modhwadia’s tweet in which he expressed displeasure over Congress party’s decision to boycott the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir’s inauguration function in Ayodhya.

Modhwadia in his tweet said that Bhagwan Ram is God who is worshipped(widely). This is the matter of faith and belief of the countrymen. Congress should have stayed away from taking such a political decision.

Modhwadia who is Congress legislator from Porbandar assembly seat voice against the party’s decision to stay away from Ram Mandir’s inauguration. The Congress party earlier today issued a statement and announced non-acceptance of invitation to attend the Ram Mandir inauguration. Party chief Mallikarjun Kharge, party leader Sonia Gandhi and opposition leader in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan were invited to attend the Ram Mandir’s inauguration function which is scheduled to take place on 22nd January. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to inaugurate the new mandir along with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.

Soon after the Congress party’s decision to boycott the Ram Mandir function, scores of Hindus on social media blamed the Congress party for its “anti-Hindu” and “minority appeasement” stand.

Former MLA from Rajula and Congress leader Ambarish Der also showed displeasure over the Congress party’s stand. In a tweet he said – ‘Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Ram is our worshipable deity so it is natural that the faith of countless people across India has been attached to this newly constructed temple over the years. Some people of the Congress party should maintain distance from that particular kind of statement and respect the public sentiment wholeheartedly. Such statements are disappointing for many
Congress workers like me. Jay Siya Ram.’
