New Delhi: Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, Union Minister VK Singh, and other senior officials flagged off the IndiGo’s first tri-weekly flights between Ahmedabad and Ayodhya today via video conference.

The Ayodhya Airport was inaugurated on December 30th by Prime Minister Modi. As the first flight from Ahmedabad to Ayodhya was ready for departure, some passengers arrived at the airport dressed as Lord Ram, Lakshman, Sita, and Hanuman. The travelers were chanting ‘Jai Shree Ram’ as they were about to take a journey to the temple town of Ayodhya.

According to the Indigo website, the flights from Ahmedabad to Ayodhya will operate on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. The departure from SVPI Airport is scheduled for 9:10 a.m., and the arrival in Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Ayodhya Dham (MVIAAD) is expected at 11 a.m. While returning to Ahmedabad, the flight will take off from Ayodhya at 11:30 am and land at SVPI Airport around 01:40 pm.

During the launch event, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath received the boarding pass for the inaugural tri-weekly flights between Ahmedabad and Ayodhya.

Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said, “We initiated the first flight between Ayodhya and Delhi on December 30th, operated by IndiGo and Air India Express. Today, we are connecting Ayodhya with Ahmedabad. It is said that where the name of Lord Ram is invoked, all tasks are accomplished, and similarly, this new connection has been established. Ahmedabad is called Manchester of the East, and launch of this flight route is significant as the Vibrant Gujarat Summit is ongoing.”

The introduction of these flights aligns with the upcoming inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on 22nd January, anticipating a significant increase in traveler numbers.
