Gandhi Ashram Memorial project: Bhumi pujan by PM Modi likely on March 12

Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi is likely to perform bhumi pujan for Sabarmati Gandhi Ashram Memorial development project on March 12. With this it is assumed that the model code of conduct for upcoming general elections of Lok Sabha may happen after that.
From 12 March, the stretch of Ashram road opposite and around Gandhi Ashram between Cargo Motors and Batrisi Bhavan will be shut for vehicular traffic. The stretch which is going to be shut for traffic on permanent basis is around 500 meters in length.
The Standing Committee off the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) approved a proposal to shut this road on permanent basis in its meeting. The alternative route shall be a new road constructed between Prabhodh Raval bridge and Parikshitlal bridge.
Gandhi Ashram development project is directly supervised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his trusted aide in Chief Minister’s office K Kailashnathan. Earlier the bhumi pujan was to be done during 22nd February visit of PM, but later the new date was decided as 12 March. DeshGujarat
