Groundbreaking performed for Gati Shakti University’s new building in Vadodara

Vadodara: The new building of Gati Shakti University (Vishwavidyalaya) is set to come up at the Lalbagh Pratap Vilas Palace complex alongside the National Railway Academy. On Friday, Lok Sabha MP Ranjan Bhatt performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the upcoming university. The university complex will be built for Rs. 630 crore on 55 acres of land.

GSU is presently functional at Pratap Vilas Palace in Lalbaug area. A new academic building will come up there with three blocks. One shall be the academic block, the others laboratory and hostel blocks.

The Railway Ministry has entrusted this project to RVNL. The academic building of this university will house 24 classrooms, a conference room, an auditorium, and laboratory rooms. The university will feature facilities such as laboratories, parking, and a library. Educational activities are scheduled to commence in the new building from August 2026. Currently, permission has been granted to use the NAIR Campus for Gatishakti University.

Notable features of the new building include:
– 629 double rooms for hostel accommodation
– 24 rooms with 72 seats each
– A 524-seat auditorium
– Parking for 127 cars and 210 two-wheelers
– A 60-room laboratory

The new building will have the capacity to accommodate 2500 students. DeshGujarat
