Gandhinagar: A local BJP ticket aspirant Govind Patel has been convinced by party to support the party candidate CJ Chavda in Vijapur assembly seat by-poll.

Vijapur seat is vacant due to resignation of ex-MLA CJ Chavda from the State assembly. Chavda was a senior Congress leader who resigned from the party as well and joined BJP. The Central Election Committee of BJP has declared Chavda’s name as candidate for Vijapur assembly by-poll.

However a local BJP leader Govind Patel had demanded ticket for the same seat. The party has averted rebellion and convinced Patel in favor of CJ Chavda.

State BJP general secretary (organization) Ratnakar Pandey met with Govind Patel after which Patel is ready to join the campaign in favor of Chavda. DeshGujarat
