AMC shuts kitchen of Fairfield by Marriott hotel on Ashram road

Ashram Road: Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has ordered closure of the kitchen of Fairfield by Marriott hotel on Ashram road.
The action has been taken under the Food Safety & Standard Act 2006 until next order in interest of public health.
According to AMC, a complain regarding dead insect in soup served in Fairfield by Marriott hotel was received, following which a Food Safety Officer paid site visit and found that ruled under schedule-4 of Food Safety & Standard Act – 2006 were not followed in the kitchen and café area. The required documents such as pest control certificate, medical fitness certificate were not produced when asked. AMC team ordered closure of Kitchen and served notice.

AMC has asked hotels, restaurants, fast-food parlors and food vending establishments to get pest control done and also get certificate for kitchen waste contract. Also there has to be license, registration. In violation of these requirement, closure and sealing will be done. DeshGujarat
