Gujarat to have Bharat Centre for Olympic Research & Education (BCORE) at RRU, Gandhinagar

Gandhinagar: The Bharat Centre for Olympic Research & Education (BCORE) will be inaugurated at Rashtriya Raksha University in the state capital this Sunday, June 23. This marks India’s first Olympic research center and the 71st such center globally, officially recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

The inauguration program will commence at 10 AM and will be attended by accomplished athlete and President of the Indian Olympic Association, Ms. P.T. Usha, as the chief guest. Olympians and Paralympians who have represented the country will also be present, along with Mr. Ajay Patel, Vice President of the Indian Olympic Association.

The Bharat Centre for Olympic Research & Education (BCORE) aims to function as a central hub for disseminating research-based knowledge to scholars, professionals, sports personnel, coaches, and enthusiasts, with a primary focus on promoting Olympism and cultivating Olympic ideals within the nation. The Centre will provide a diverse range of resources and information to support academic pursuits, professional growth, and sports management initiatives.

Key Objectives:

– Research & Education: B-CORE will offer extensive research materials and educational programs tailored for individuals interested in various aspects of sports management, Olympic studies, and related fields.

– Global Engagement: Alongside domestic initiatives, B-CORE plans to engage in international Olympic-related activities. Olympic Studies & Research Centres (OSRC) will attract scholars and researchers worldwide, facilitating events, collaborating with other OSRCs globally, and contributing to the global discourse on Olympism.

– Career Development: B-CORE will introduce specialized courses designed to equip aspiring professionals with essential skills and knowledge for successful careers in sports management and related disciplines.

– Future Prospects: Establishing the Bharat Centre for Olympic Research and Education aligns with India’s ambitions to potentially host future Olympic editions.
