Southwest Monsoon advances further in Gujarat; Heavy Rain warning by IMD for June 24-25

Surat: The Southwest Monsoon, after being stalled at Navsari for the past 10 days since its onset on June 10, has moved further ahead, covering more districts of South Gujarat and some parts of coastal Saurashtra. Furthermore, conditions are favorable for the further advance of the Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of the North Arabian Sea and Gujarat State during the next 3-4 days.

The Indian Meteorological Department, in its latest bulletin, has issued a heavy rain warning for the next 2 days in some parts of Gujarat. Light to moderate rain is likely to occur in most places across all the districts of the state.

As per the latest bulletin of the IMD, heavy to very heavy rains are very likely at isolated places in Dahod and Chhota Udepur districts. Heavy rains are very likely in Panchmahal, Mahisagar, Amreli, Gir Somnath, and Diu. However, light to moderate rain is likely to occur in all the districts of Gujarat today, i.e., 24th June.

On 25th June, heavy rains are very likely at isolated places in Banaskantha and Sabarkantha districts, while all other districts of Gujarat may witness light to moderate rain.
