August 03, 2024
Surat: If reports are to be believed, the state government is planning to ease liquor laws in DREAM (Diamond Research and Mercantile) City, which houses the world’s largest office space, the Surat Diamond Bourse (SDB).
According to a newspaper report, similar to the approach taken in GIFT City in Gandhinagar, the Gujarat government is likely to approve the proposal to modify the liquor laws within the boundaries of DREAM City. The home and other relevant departments will establish guidelines for the sale and consumption of alcohol if the proposal is approved. It is learnt that if everything goes according to plan, an announcement could occur within two months.
Speaking about the development, Dinesh Navadiya, a diamond businessman, stated that this will be a crucial step in attracting business to the area. Easing prohibition in DREAM City will foster an international business environment. DeshGujarat
