AMC run AMTS announces special bus service for religious pilgrimage in Shravan
August 05, 2024
Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service (AMTS) has reintroduced its special bus service for devotees to visit religious places in the city during the holy month of Shravan, starting today.
Residents of Ahmedabad will have the opportunity to visit up to 20 temples aboard a bus that accommodates 40 passengers. The rental cost of the bus has been set at Rs. 3,000, meaning each passenger will only need to pay Rs. 75 for this religious tour. To book the bus, advance payment of the prescribed fare is required at Laldarwaja, Sarangpur, Wadaj, or Maninagar bus terminus. After booking for the selected date, the bus will arrive at the designated location at 8 AM and will take the devotees to the temples selected by the group, operating for nine hours until 5 PM.
As part of this special service, pilgrims can visit 7 to 8 temples in a day from a list that includes Bhadrakali Temple, Jagannath Temple, Somnath Mahadev (Gyaspur), Lambha Temple, Karnamukteshwar Mahadev, Chakudia Mahadev, Neelkanth Mahadev (Asrwa), Camp Hanuman Temple, Mahakali Temple (Doodheswar), Aksharpurushottam Temple, Tri-mandir, Vishwa Umiya Dham (Jaspur), Vaishnavadevi Temple, Tirupati Balaji, Sola Bhagwat Vidyapeeth, Harekrishna Mandir (Bhadaj), Gurdwara Govinddham, Parameshwar Mahadev, ISKCON Mandir, and Jalaram Mandir.
In case of any confusion regarding the choice of temples, AMTS will provide a list of options. Apart from the bus fare, no additional amount will need to be paid.
Last year, 1.5 lakh citizens utilized the darshan service at religious temples by hiring 2,500 buses during the months of Shravan and Aadhik Mas. AMTS officials have noted that it is not feasible to organize darshan at all 20 temples simultaneously, so only 7 to 8 temples can be visited within a nine-hour timeframe. Sufficient time is also allocated for darshan. DeshGujarat
