Thieves cut woman’s legs to steal anklets in Kawant; elderly couple dead

Chhota Udepur: An elderly couple was brutally murdered and robbed in Pipalda village of Kawant taluka. The old man was stabbed in the neck with a sharp weapon by the robbers, while the old woman had her legs severed and her anklets stolen.
The incident occurred late Wednesday night when Ganjibhai Chimanbhai (70) and his wife Chimtiben were asleep at home. The robbers, intending to loot the couple, attacked them in their sleep. They stabbed Ganjibhai in the back of the neck with a sharp weapon, killing him. Chimtiben, who was sleeping nearby, was also stabbed in the head and other parts of her body. The robbers then severed both her legs and stole the anklets she was wearing.
Upon learning of the incident, Kawant Police arrived at the scene, took possession of the couple’s bodies, and shifted them to the Kawant Community Health Center for post-mortem examinations. A case of robbery with double murder has been registered against unknown assailants, and further investigation is underway. DeshGujarat
