Ahmedabad: The biggest festival of Gujarat, Navratri, is just days away, and in good news for Garba lovers, the Ahmedabad Metro railway services are likely to operate until 2 a.m. during these days.
Though the official announcement has not been made by the Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation, it is expected that starting from the third Navratri, the metro will continue to run until 2 a.m. Last year, during Navratri, an arrangement was made for the metro to be available every 20 minutes from 10 p.m. until late at night. Last year, around 5 lakh people traveled by metro during Navratri. Metro timings will be extended until 2 a.m. to facilitate transportation and ensure a safe return for people going to Garba from one end of the city to the other.
In another update, the city police commissioner has issued guidelines for Navratri organizers. According to these guidelines, Garba can be played only until 12 a.m. If loudspeakers are used after midnight in societies, party plots, or flats, action will be taken against the organizer. Rules regarding CCTV cameras and fire safety have also been established for Navratri events held in party plots and clubs. The Commissioner of Police has stated in the circular that all individuals on the plot will be the responsibility of the organizers. Additionally, CCTV must be mandatory at the venue of the event, with separate entry and exit roads. DeshGujarat
