Gujarat govt to celebrate Vikas Saptah during Oct 7 to 15 every year

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government will mark Vikas Saptah from October 7 to 15 every year to commemorate October 7, 2001, when Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi took oath as Gujarat Chief Minister for the first time. This year, October 7 will mark the completion of 23 years since that day. The state government’s spokesperson, Minister Rushikesh Patel, today stated that Vikas Saptah will feature various programs, including cultural events by artists, an online hashtag campaign on social media, and a foot march titled Vikas Padyatra at 23 iconic places across the state.
These foot marches will take place at locations such as the Statue of Unity, Sabarmati Riverfront, Surat Diamond Bourse, Nadabet, Pavagadh, Shyamji Krushna Memorial, Smritivan, Ambaji, Dwarka Sudarshan Bridge, and Pal Dadhvav Shahid Smarak, among others. Essay competitions will be held in schools and colleges, wall paintings will be created at famous sites across the state, and decorative lighting will be installed in various development areas. Inaugurations and groundbreaking ceremonies for development works worth ₹3,500 crore will also take place.
