Gandhinagar: Health Minister Rushikesh Patel today announced the Gujarat government’s decision to increase the monthly salary of medical teachers working on a contractual basis for 11 months at hospitals affiliated with Government Medical Colleges in the state. The range of the salary hike is between 30% to 55%.

According to this decision, Class-I Professors who are currently paid a monthly salary of ₹1,84,000 will now receive ₹2,50,000. Associate Professors (Class-I) will receive ₹2,20,000 instead of ₹1,67,500, while Assistant Professors (Class-I) will be paid ₹1,38,000, up from ₹89,400. Tutors (Class-II) will now receive ₹1,05,000, up from ₹69,300.

The decision will come into effect following the Health Department’s resolution dated 9/10/2024. DeshGujarat
