Surat: A luxury bus went out of control and rammed into seven to eight vehicles near Kamrej Toll Plaza, killing at least one person in the accident. The driver of the bus was reportedly found in an inebriated condition and was handed over to the police by locals near the accident site.
The incident occurred this morning when a bus belonging to Shree Kanaiya Travels was traveling from Jamnagar to Surat. The driver lost control and crashed into several vehicles between Kamrej Toll Plaza and Dada Bhagwan Mandir. Around seven to eight vehicles, including cars, bikes, and rickshaws, were struck. Four people are reportedly injured, and it is suspected that one or two people lost their lives in the accident. Those at the scene handed the driver over to the police, and further action has been taken.
Ketanbhai, an eyewitness at Kamrej Char Rasta, said the bus driver was speeding without braking and hit several people in his path. “A man was killed right in front of me, and two women were injured, with their legs broken. The bus also hit my car. I couldn’t move because it all happened so fast. We were in complete shock.”
A biker whose motorcycle was hit by the luxury bus stated, “As I was heading towards Surat, the driver of the private luxury bus, Kanaiya Travels, appeared to be driving under the influence. I had to jump off my bike onto the roadside to survive, but my bike was destroyed. From what I witnessed, I estimate that 3 to 4 people may have died in this accident.” DeshGujarat
