8 laborers affected by chemical gas taken to hospital in Narol Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: Eight laborers at Narol-based Devi Synthetic Pvt Ltd. were taken to LG Hospital in a 108 emergency service-linked ambulance after they fainted due to gas exposure.
The incident was reported at 10:55 am on Sunday. According to officials, a tanker carrying sulfuric acid was being unloaded when it reacted with caustic soda in the bleaching department, generating fumes. The workers there fainted due to the impact of the gas.
The rescue team from Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC)’s Fire & Emergency Service shut the valve after using personal protective equipment, preventing further gas leakage. The fire department called the Forensic Lab, GPCB, and factory inspector for a detailed probe.
The Aslali fire station team, including one station officer, one divisional officer, one sub-officer, ten firefighter jawans, an emergency van, an RIV vehicle, and an ambulance, joined the operation at the incident site.
Mafuz Ansari (42), Mahendrabhai (50), Ishad Khan (25), Mangal Singh (56), Ashokbhai (56), Maljibhai (59), Lavkush (32), and Kamal Yadav (25), all residents of Narol GIDC, were taken to LG Hospital for primary treatment. DeshGujarat
