Gujarat Police awards cash prizes to 1,345 personnel for their work in POCSO cases

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Police Chief Vikas Sahay today recognized the efforts of police officers and staff involved in POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses) cases, praising their commitment to safeguarding children and minor girls. In recognition of their efforts, Gujarat Police awarded a total of Rs. 12,64,630 in cash rewards to 1,345 officers and staff, including women police officers, for their contributions across 413 POCSO cases. The officers worked diligently to apprehend the accused, gathered critical evidence, and ensured that the criminals received maximum punishment, including the death penalty in some cases.

This recognition highlights Gujarat Police’s ongoing commitment to the safety of children and minor girls. Over the past three years, 609 individuals have been convicted in POCSO cases. The police have shown sensitivity by quickly investigating these crimes, collecting scientific evidence, and presenting strong cases in court to ensure that the guilty face severe punishment. The cash rewards were presented to motivate further dedication and commitment to tackling such heinous crimes. DeshGujarat
