Gandhinagar: With effective energy-saving efforts, electricity consumption in Raj Bhavan has decreased by 25,838 units compared to previous years. Additionally, there has been an increase in the use of solar energy, with 43% of Raj Bhavan’s electricity consumption now being met through solar power, stated an official release.
As per the statement, plans are in place to increase this to 58% in the coming year. Currently, Raj Bhavan has a solar generation capacity of 181 kilowatts, with further plans to install solar panels over an additional 6,600 square feet.
Following the Governor’s instructions, lights across the vast Raj Bhavan premises are now switched off 20 minutes before sunrise and turned on only 20 minutes after sunset, saving 40 minutes of electricity usage daily.
