Porcupine menace on MS University campus in Vadodara
March 18, 2025
Vadodara: The threat of a porcupine on the MS University campus is growing, as it has now killed a second dog within two months.
In January, a dog gave birth to four puppies behind the University Experimental School building, but the porcupine decapitated them, leaving their headless bodies behind. Now, another dog has been killed near the university’s Microbiology Department, once again with its head missing.
Students and faculty members are alarmed by the porcupine’s presence and plan to seek assistance from the forest department to capture it. A student told the media, “This is the Biotechnology Department in the Faculty of Science. When we arrived this morning, we saw a dead dog. It had been bitten by something, and we were told it was a porcupine attack. I have also seen the animal, and this has created fear among us, as it might attack humans as well.” DeshGujarat
