Over 100 Gujarati film artists to visit State Assembly on March 27
March 25, 2025
Gandhinagar: Over 100 artists from the Gujarati film industry will be visiting the Gujarat Assembly on Thursday, March 27. Amid the ongoing budget session, plans are in place to invite over 300 artists, including actors and actresses from across the state, to the Assembly.
The responsibility for this program has been assigned to BJP Cultural Cell In-charge Janak Thakkar and former MLA Hitu Kanodia, under the supervision of Minister of Tourism and Cultural Activities, Mulubhai Bera. Earlier, all folk artists were given a tour of the Assembly proceedings. At that time, Gujarati film actor Vikram Thakor had alleged bias against him. In response, Assembly Speaker Shankar Bhai Chaudhary clarified that only folk and dayra artists were invited on that occasion, and Vikram Thakor would be invited when other film artists were called.
Now, on March 27, which marks World Theatre Day, actors, actresses, and artists associated with the film industry will be seen in the Assembly gallery.
Regarding this event, BJP Cultural Cell In-charge Janak Thakkar stated, “Since it is World Theatre Day, we have organized this event. Vikram Thakor has been invited, and it is entirely his decision whether to attend or not. Our responsibility was to extend the invitation.” DeshGujarat
