Central University students oppose Railways’ move to shut Kundhela level crossing

Vadodara: The General Secretary of the Central University of Gujarat has given a memorandum to the district Collector against the Railways’ move to shut the level crossing no. 18 of railway line at Kundhela village permanently. However Railways believe that closure of level crossing is required for fast, uninterrupted and smooth run of trains on this crucial route that serves lakhs of railway passengers.
The Chancellor has written to the Collector and submitted that the construction of the permanent premises of the Central University of Gujarat is in progress on the 100 acres of land allotted by the government at Kundhel village of Vadodara district. For this, the Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone of the permanent premises of the University on 18 June 2022. In which approximately 3 thousand people will live in this campus. Central University of Gujarat has started the academic session from August-2024 in the new campus at Kundhel.
At present, more than 1 thousand students are studying in various disciplines in 11 schools and 22 centers in the university. Apart from this, new courses are also going to be started. DeshGujarat
