Vadodara also has some safe havens and Lallas: MP calls for actions similar to Chandola Talav
April 30, 2025
Vadodara: Amid the major demolition drive in Ahmedabad targeting illegal structures of Bangladeshi infiltrators in the Chandola Talav area, Vadodara MP Hemang Joshi has called for similar action in Vadodara. Taking to social media, Joshi posted a video of the Ahmedabad demolition drive, which saw around 500 illegal houses razed and urged the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) to take similar action.
In his post, Joshi tagged the Vadodara civic body and wrote, “Vadodara too has some safe havens and Lallas at the mercy of the Opposition party and anti-nationals. It’s time to act against them.” It is learnt that Joshi has also submitted information to the city police and the municipal corporation regarding specific illegal encroachments allegedly built under political protection.

This demand comes amid a statewide crackdown on illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 27 Hindu civilians were killed. The drive has been active in cities like Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot, and Vadodara. With Joshi’s public intervention, a similar demolition campaign in Vadodara may be on the horizon. — DeshGujarat
