May 29, 2025
Prantij: In a decoy operation, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has nabbed a contract-based peon, Rajendrasinh Chhatrasinh Jhala, posted at the E-Dhara section of the Mamlatdar office in Prantij, for accepting a bribe of ₹2,000.
The operation was launched after the ACB received a tip-off that certain employees at the Mamlatdar office in Prantij were allegedly demanding bribes ranging from ₹1,000 to ₹2,000 for retrieving old survey number records. Acting on this input, ACB officials set up a decoy trap with the help of a citizen. During the operation, Jhala allegedly demanded and accepted a bribe of ₹2,000 from the decoy in the parking area behind the Mamlatdar office. He was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe, and the entire amount was recovered on the spot. The ACB has registered a case and is conducting further investigation. DeshGujarat
