NFSU launches patriotic letter campaign honoring national heroes on 79th Independence Day

Gandhinagar: The National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) celebrated the 79th Independence Day on 15th August 2025. Prof. (Dr.) S.O. Junare, Campus Director, NFSU-Gandhinagar, hoisted the National Flag at the Gandhinagar campus on the occasion.

NCC cadets and NSS volunteers of the university participated in a march-past, displaying patriotism and discipline. Patriotic songs were performed by NFSU students and staff, while foreign students delivered speeches on various subjects related to patriotism, fostering a sense of global solidarity and intercultural dialogue.

On this auspicious occasion, Prof. (Dr.) S.O. Junare paid homage to the freedom fighters and martyrs, stating that NFSU is deeply committed to serving the nation with unwavering patriotism and purpose. He announced that the university has launched a nationwide campaign titled “One Letter to the Sons of Mother India” from today until 17th September, in honour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, as a patriotic tribute following Operation Sindoor.

As part of the initiative, students will write heartfelt handwritten letters in Rajbhasha Hindi to soldiers and the families of martyrs, expressing gratitude for their dedicated service to the nation. In total, 7,500 letters will be sent to soldiers nationwide, while 75 specially selected messages will be showcased on a 75-foot “Veeranjali Pillar,” symbolising enduring gratitude and patriotic pride.

Prof. (Dr.) Junare also expressed his gratitude to the Vice Chancellor of NFSU, Padma Shri awardee Dr. J.M. Vyas, for his significant role in strengthening India’s forensic capabilities. He highlighted that NFSU has rapidly expanded to 14 campuses across India and established an international presence in Jinja, Uganda—underscoring its leadership in advancing forensic science to strengthen the justice system and boost conviction rates nationwide.
