August 23, 2025
Ahmedabad: To ease traffic congestion on the highway connecting the city with Palanpur and Mehsana in North Gujarat, the state government has initiated work on developing a Regional Transportation Infrastructure. In this direction, three six-lane vehicle underpasses will be constructed on the Ahmedabad–Mehsana–Palanpur highway. These will include one underpass near Nagalpur (Mehsana) and two near Unava village in Unjha. The foundation stone for these projects will be laid on Monday by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Nikol in Ahmedabad.
Within a 100-km radius around Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, efforts are underway to strengthen road infrastructure to facilitate smooth movement to and from North Gujarat. On Monday, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation of road projects worth ₹307 crore. These include the Ahmedabad–Mehsana–Palanpur State Highway expansion, which is connected to the state’s busiest urban corridor — the Sarkhej–Gandhinagar (SG) National Highway.
Additionally, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the 21-km Viramgam–Khudad–Rampura road widening project, built at a cost of ₹33 crore.
