4 Bullet Train stations in Gujarat being developed as multi-modal transport hubs
August 27, 2025
Surat: The Mumbai–Ahmedabad Bullet Train project is moving ahead rapidly, and Gujarat is witnessing a major transformation with eight modern stations coming up across the state. The stations at Sabarmati, Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Bilimora, and Vapi have already completed their structural works, and finishing activities such as interiors, roofing, and station facilities are now in progress, the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited stated today
When completed, these stations will not just be places to board trains, but will become symbols of world-class travel, comfort, and convenience.
Designed for passenger comfort, each station has been carefully designed to reflect the cultural identity of the city it serves. From soothing interiors and aesthetically designed exteriors to natural lighting and airy spaces, the focus is on creating a calm and pleasant travel experience.

Sustainability has been made a priority in the station design. Solar panels are being installed at some stations to generate clean energy, while skylights and wide openings will reduce the need for artificial lighting during the day. The platform areas will have ample natural light and ventilation.
Across the station premises, plants and saplings are being planted to create a green and refreshing environment. Provisions have been made for rain water harvesting through ground water recharging wells. Sewage water treatment plants (STPs) are being installed for recycling water. Environment friendly materials like paints, panels and tiles etc have been used in the station. These measures will ensure that the stations are not just modern, but also environmentally responsible.
For passenger convenience, multiple lifts and escalators are being installed at each station to make movement across levels smooth and accessible for all — including the elderly, differently-abled, and families with children. Clear signages to guide passengers easily across concourse, platform, and exit areas including information kiosks and public announcement systems are being installed.
Spacious waiting areas with comfortable seating, business class lounges, nursery and childcare facilities in addition to food kiosks, retail counters, and other passenger services will be available to make travel more convenient and enjoyable.
Stations at Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Sabarmati, and Surat are being developed as multimodal transport hubs. This means passengers will be able to easily switch between the Bullet Train, Indian Railways, Metro trains, buses, taxis, autos, and other local transport. Such smooth integration will reduce transition times, making travel faster, safer, and more convenient for everyone. Parking spaces are also being developed for passenger convenience at all stations.
Each Bullet Train station is being developed as more than just a transit point — it is a symbol of connectivity, sustainability, and cultural pride. With world-class amenities blending technology with tradition and seamless integration, these stations will set new benchmarks in passenger experience. DeshGujarat
