Surat: Even before the Indian Women’s Cricket Team lifted the ODI World Cup trophy, BJP Rajya Sabha MP and renowned diamond industrialist Govind Dholakia had announced a special reward for the team. Dholakia has promised to gift each player natural diamond jewellery and install solar rooftop systems at their homes to celebrate the team’s achievement.

The Surat-based industrialist expressed his intention in a letter addressed to BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla, stating that the Indian women’s team has brought immense pride to the nation and demonstrated the true strength of women’s empowerment.

“Winning the World Cup is not just a sporting achievement; it’s a powerful message that women can achieve anything when they believe in themselves,” Dholakia wrote. “Their victory will inspire countless young girls to dream big and pursue their goals with confidence.”

Dholakia is the founder of Shree Ramkrishna Exports, one of Surat’s leading diamond firms. Known for his philanthropy, he had earlier donated ₹11 crore for the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and gained attention for gifting cars and houses to his employees during Diwali celebrations.
