Surat: Acting on recent directives from the Director General of Police, the Surat city police have launched a comprehensive investigation and surveillance operation against anti-national elements booked over the past 30 years.
So far, the Surat Police have initiated investigations into around 2,400 individuals, of which dossiers for 700 people have been prepared, with the remaining expected to be completed within the next two days.
In a press conference, the Surat Police Commissioner stated that a special list of suspects involved in serious crimes is being prepared. The list includes individuals registered under the Arms Act, Explosives Act, Terror Act, NDPS Act, as well as cases of fake currency and oil theft.
These dossiers contain detailed information about the suspects’ activities and criminal history, including personal and technical details such as current appearance, property records, residences, photos, and past criminal cases. Information is being collected from multiple sources to ensure accuracy.
Special attention is being given to suspects involved in previous bombings in Surat and Ahmedabad. Their movements, associations, and activities are under constant surveillance. As part of current security measures, the police are also monitoring terror funding to prevent financial support for terrorist activities. DeshGujarat
