Survey of 139 ‘Enemy Properties’ Underway in Rajkot

Rajkot: The Rajkot Collector’s Office, in coordination with the Assistant Custodian of Enemy Property, a surveyor from Mumbai, the DLR Office, and the City Survey Superintendent, has initiated a survey and valuation of “enemy properties” across the district.

Under the law, assets owned by individuals who migrated to Pakistan or any other hostile nation and subsequently acquired citizenship there are classified as “enemy property.” According to Rajkot District Collector Om Prakash, the district has 139 such properties across urban and rural areas registered with the Custodian of Enemy Property.

The ongoing survey, which began on November 17 and will continue until December 23, aims to verify whether any of these properties were sold through legal means and whether all applicable government dues were paid. So far, 66 have already been officially declared enemy property, while 73 properties are under verification to determine whether they were sold legally, transferred before departure, or not declared to the authorities.

Once the valuation process is completed, the government will begin preparations for a public auction of these assets, enabling buyers to legally acquire them. DeshGujarat
