Shivling stolen from Neelkanth Mahadev Mandir in Gandevi; CCTV footage captures act

Navsari: In a shocking incident at the ancient Neelkanth Mahadev temple in a remote village of Ganadevi taluka, a man allegedly stole a Shivling, leaving villagers outraged and stunned.
The theft was captured on the temple’s CCTV cameras, revealing a bizarre sequence of events. According to the footage, an unknown individual entered the temple premises at night. Surprisingly, before committing the theft, he rang the temple bell three times and prostrated before Lord Mahadev, seemingly showing devotion. After this, he picked up the Shivling placed under a peepal tree, loaded it into a car, and drove away. The entire act was clearly visible on the CCTV footage.
Villagers expressed deep anger and disbelief over the theft, stating that “even the Lord is not safe” in the temple premises. The incident was immediately reported to the police, who have launched an investigation.
