Rajkot: The visit of BJP National Organization General Secretary B.L. Santhosh to Saurashtra has sparked significant discussion within Rajkot’s political circles, particularly following his meeting with the family of the late former Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.

B.L. Santhosh met with Anjaliben Rupani (wife of the late former CM) and son Rushabh Rupani. The meeting, which lasted approximately 25 minutes as per the local news reports.

Santhosh was initially accompanied by several senior leaders, including Gujarat BJP President Jagdish Vishwakarma, Organization General Secretary Ratnakar, Saurashtra Zone General Secretary Vinod Chavda.

It is learnt that, Rajkot City BJP President Madhav Dave whoinlaiy went to Rupani’s house was later not presnt in the meeting with Anjaliben Rupani from the meeting. This exclusion comes follwing a dispure between the city organization and  the Rupani family  regarding the expenses of the final journey of the late Vijay Rupani.

Following the meeting, Anjaliben Rupani addressed the media. She characterized the visit as a familial and goodwill gesture, claiming it was the first time B.L. Santhosh visited after the passing of Vijay Rupani six months prior.

When questioned about the purpose of the meeting, she made the following statements to the media “It has been about six months since Saheb (Vijay Rupani) passed away, and this is the first time Santoshji is visiting. Santoshji is a leader of our organization. He is familiar with the work Saheb did for the organization, which is why he took this goodwill visit.”

When asked about the possibility of becoming politically active in the coming days, she conveyed “We are party workers; we will do as the party directs/assigns it was just a goodwill visit.”

In addition to thhis meeting, B.L. Santhosh is scheduled to hold a meeting at Kamalam in Rajkot. This organizational meeting will include BJP State President Jagdish Vishwakarma and Organization General Secretary Ratnakar. The meeting will involve district and city BJP presidents and general secretaries and will include deliberation on the work of SIR, the Swadeshi Abhiyan, and the upcoming local self-government elections.
