Minimum temperature rises 6°C above normal in Ahmedabad; nights remain warmer across Gujarat
November 28, 2025
Ahmedabad: Minimum temperatures across Gujarat continued their upward trend on Friday, with several cities recording night temperatures 4°C to 7°C above normal, according to the morning weather bulletin issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
In Ahmedabad, the minimum temperature touched 21.1°C, which is 6°C above normal, indicating a noticeable rise in night-time warmth. Similar conditions prevailed in other major centres, with Baroda witnessing 21.2°C (+5.2°C above normal), state capital Gandhinagar recording 20.8°C (+5.6°C), and Surat registering 22.0°C (+3.7°C).
The highest difference between normal and actual temperature was observed in Deesa, where the mercury reached 20.3°C, 6.7°C above normal. Similarly, coastal locations such as Diu (20.4°C) and Porbandar (19.3°C) also recorded higher-than-normal night temperatures.
While places like Bhuj (16.0°C, +1.0°C) and Naliya (13.6°C, +0.3°C) remained relatively cooler, they were still above their climatological norms. Morning humidity levels remained high in several districts, with Dahod and Dang recording 100% relative humidity.
Meteorologists indicate that the absence of strong northerly winds and the prevailing warm air mass over the region are contributing to the persistent rise in minimum temperatures. With night temperatures staying significantly above seasonal averages, Gujarat continues to experience unusually warm late-November conditions. DeshGujarat
