GST revenue of Gujarat dips 7% in Nov 2025 compared to Nov 2024

Ahmedabad: Gujarat recorded a 7% decline in its pre-settlement State GST (SGST) revenue in November 2025, collecting ₹3,825 crore compared to ₹4,101 crore in November 2024, according to the latest GST data released by the Union Ministry of Finance.

However, after IGST settlement adjustments, the state’s post-settlement SGST revenue registered a marginal 1% increase, rising from ₹6,657 crore in November 2024 to ₹6,723 crore in November 2025. This indicates that although direct SGST inflows dipped, Gujarat benefited from a higher IGST settlement this year.

Gujarat is among several major states that saw a year-on-year decline in pre-settlement GST revenue. Madhya Pradesh (-8%), Uttar Pradesh (-7%), Tamil Nadu (-4%) and Rajasthan (-3%) also reported drops.

In contrast, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Assam, Telangana and Haryana recorded positive growth in both pre- and post-settlement categories.

Nationally, GST collections remained largely steady. The combined post-settlement GST of all States and Union Territories stood at ₹86,882 crore in November 2025, almost unchanged from ₹86,837 crore in the corresponding period last year. The ministry noted that these are provisional figures and subject to revision.

It is noteworthy that this slowdown in growth follows the implementation of the Next-Generation GST reforms, which revised rate slabs for various goods and services from September this year. As many day-to-day items have become cheaper for consumers, a corresponding decline in government revenue was anticipated. DeshGujarat
