AMC approves construction of Mini Sports Complex in Ranip

Ahmedabad: As the city has won the bid to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games, the civic body has picked up the pace in developing sports infrastructure across Ahmedabad. In a related move, the Standing Committee of Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Saturday gave the nod for the construction of a new sports complex in front of Pramukh Bungalows, covering T.P. 66 and T.P. 66/A in Ranip Ward of Zone 5. The development comes in response to the lack of sports facilities in the area, as highlighted by the local MLA and councillor. Accordingly, the project has been included in the AMC’s 2024-25 budget, recommended by the Standing Committee.

The project, estimated at ₹43.83 crore, will be constructed on plots T.P. 66/A, Fa. No. 115, 114, 79, and 325 in the New Ranip area. Tenders for the work have already been invited, and construction will commence soon after final approval.
