‘Faulty’ Range Rover owner hangs posters on car, parks it outside Ahmedabad showroom

Ahmedabad: In a rare and dramatic protest, a Range Rover owner in Ahmedabad put up banners on his luxury car and parked it outside a car showroom on SG Highway, alleging repeated technical issues with the high-end vehicle and a lack of proper resolution from the dealer.

The car owner, Wasim, claimed that despite purchasing a Range Rover Sport worth around ₹2.10 crore, the vehicle has been plagued with persistent technical faults for the last two and a half years. His primary complaint involves a malfunctioning foot step/side step, which he says has repeatedly failed despite multiple repair attempts.

According to the banners displayed on the car, the vehicle has been sent for repairs 17 times, while the dealer reportedly maintains it has been serviced only seven times.

Wasim added that he is still willing to send the car for repairs, but only if the company provides a written assurance that the issue will be resolved permanently — an assurance he claims the company has not given so far.

“Whoever Helps Me Get Justice Will Get ₹51,000”

Frustrated with the ongoing problems, Wasim put up banners on his vehicle, including an appeal stating that anyone who helps him get justice will receive a reward of ₹51,000. Another banner reads: “Do you also want to spend ₹2 crore on a luxury car and still face harassment?”

The frustrated customer had parked his car outside the Range Rover showroom in the Jagatpur area of Ahmedabad as a form of protest. He also alleged that showroom staff pressured him, claiming they would have his vehicle towed by the police. “I had to take the car back because they were about to tow it,” he said.

Wasim accused the dealership of failing to provide a satisfactory service experience. He stated that despite paying a premium price for a luxury vehicle, he has repeatedly faced mechanical issues and inadequate responses from service staff.

Similar Protest Took Place in March

A similar protest occurred on March 25, when a man from Rajkot also parked his car in front of an Ahmedabad-based dealership with a poster reading, “Don’t Buy, Don’t Buy Range Rover.” DeshGujarat
