ACB Gujarat nabs CID Crime inspector, constable in ₹30 lakh bribe case

Gandhinagar: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has nabbed two police personnel posted with the CID Crime in a ₹30 lakh bribery case in Gandhinagar.
According to the ACB, Police Inspector Pethabhai Karamsinh Patel and Armed Police Constable Vipulbhai Babubhai Desai, both posted with the CID Crime, Gandhinagar, allegedly demanded a bribe of ₹30 lakh from the complainant and his friend in exchange for not taking action in a case registered against them. Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant approached the ACB and lodged a formal complaint, following which a trap was arranged.
During the trap laid this afternoon, accused Vipulbhai Desai held a face-to-face meeting with the complainant and accepted the bribe amount, while Police Inspector Patel also played an active role in the transaction. The ACB team recovered the entire ₹30 lakh bribe amount from the accused on the spot. DeshGujarat
