Ahmedabad: Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi on Thursday inaugurated the newly constructed Khakhi Bhavan at the Ahmedabad Rural Police Headquarters in Makarba, built at a cost of ₹8.50 crore. He also laid the foundation stone for a smart police building in Dholera as part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades in the police department.
Spread over 2,400 square metres, the three-storey Khakhi Bhavan offers five-star hotel–like facilities for police personnel from constables to inspectors. The facility includes 26 fully furnished rooms, a cafeteria, canteen, 50-seat dining hall, gym, indoor games area, laundry room, mess, and a rooftop café.
The first floor houses 12 king-size rooms with amenities such as study tables, TVs and wardrobes, while the second floor has 14 double-bed rooms. The third floor features three dormitory halls with 28 single beds and bedside storage.
Addressing the gathering, Sanghavi said all district police headquarters and SRP grounds across Gujarat will be opened for youth preparing for police recruitment, with arrangements for coaches, physiotherapists and technical training.
During the event, he also showcased Project Blue Circuit, unveiled the Abhay Yatri project and ADR-SHIELD platform, inaugurated new police buildings in the Aslali division, and laid the foundation stone for the Viramgam Town Police Line. DeshGujarat
