Blinkit delivery partners protest in Nadiad over sharp cut in pay
December 19, 2025
Nadiad: Delivery services of quick commerce platform Blinkit came to a complete halt in Nadiad after around 150 delivery partners went on strike, protesting a sharp reduction in per-order delivery rates.
According to the agitating delivery personnel, Blinkit has reduced the delivery compensation from ₹75 per order to ₹38, making it financially unviable for delivery partners to continue working. The employees alleged that after accounting for petrol and other operational expenses, the revised payout leaves them with almost no earnings.
The sudden strike has severely disrupted Blinkit’s operations in the city, with thousands of customer orders reportedly stuck and deliveries coming to a standstill.
The protesting delivery partners further alleged that when they approached the company’s local management to raise concerns over the reduced compensation, the manager dismissed their grievances without consideration. They claimed that long-standing issues such as inadequate remuneration, lack of accident insurance, and absence of basic employee benefits had been ignored, eventually triggering the agitation.
The workers have warned that they will not resume duties unless the previous delivery rates are restored and the management provides written assurances addressing their demands. As of the time of filing this report, Blinkit had not issued any official statement on the matter. DeshGujarat
