Ahmedabad: Minimum temperatures dipped across several parts of Gujarat on Friday night, bringing a noticeable chill to early morning conditions, particularly in Saurashtra and Kutch, according to the latest weather observations by the India Meteorological Department.

Among the coldest locations, Naliya in Kutch recorded a minimum temperature of 7°C, which was 2°C below normal, making it the coldest station in the state. Rajkot also witnessed a sharp dip, with the mercury settling at 9.4°C, 3.1°C below normal, indicating intensified cold conditions in central Saurashtra. Porbandar recorded a minimum of 11.4°C, which was 2.4°C below normal, while Bhuj reported 11.4°C, marginally below normal.

In north Gujarat, Deesa recorded a minimum temperature of 11.8°C, around 2.1°C above normal, while Gandhinagar saw the mercury dip to 12.8°C, close to normal levels. Ahmedabad and Vadodara both recorded minimum temperatures of 15°C, which were 2–3°C above normal, indicating relatively milder conditions compared to Saurashtra and Kutch.

Coastal areas remained comparatively warmer. Daman recorded a minimum of 17°C, Diu 15.8°C, and Veraval 15.8°C, all close to or slightly above normal. Okha remained the warmest at night with a minimum temperature of 18.2°C.

No rainfall was recorded during the past 24 hours. Relative humidity levels were high during morning hours across most regions, touching 92% in Rajkot and Naliya.

Weather experts indicate that the dip in minimum temperatures is consistent with prevailing winter conditions, and similar chilly mornings are likely to continue in parts of Saurashtra and Kutch over the next few days. DeshGujarat
