Ahmedabad: Chaos broke out at the busy Kalupur Railway Station early this monrning after a clash between auto-rickshaw drivers and Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel escalated, forcing police to resort to a lathi-charge to restore order.
The confrontation reportedly began when RPF personnel objected to rickshaw drivers picking up passengers near the station premises. What started as an argument quickly turned into a heated altercation amid heavy morning passenger movement.
Rickshaw drivers have alleged that an RPF jawan assaulted one of their colleagues, which further inflamed tensions and led to a commotion inside the station area. As the situation turned volatile, police intervened and dispersed the crowd.
The incident was captured on camera, and videos have since gone viral on social media, triggering debate over railway security enforcement and the conduct of rickshaw drivers.
