Mehsana: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat on Friday trapped a data entry operator of BND Energy Fitness Center for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹500 in connection with the issuance of a vehicle fitness certificate in Mehsana.
According to the ACB, the complainant had applied online for a fitness certificate required for the re-registration of his loading rickshaw. When the complainant met the accused, Amitkumar Prahladbhai Patel, regarding the application, Patel allegedly demanded an additional bribe of ₹500 over and above the official fee for processing the certificate.
Unwilling to pay the illegal gratification, the complainant approached the Mehsana ACB and lodged a formal complaint. Acting on the complaint, the ACB laid a trap outside the BND Energy Fitness Center at Sendhani Parlour, Mehsana. During the operation, the accused accepted the bribe amount of ₹500 and was caught red-handed. The tainted currency was recovered from his possession on the spot. Further legal proceedings are underway. DeshGujarat
