Ahmedabad: Cold conditions persisted across Gujarat on Sunday night, with minimum temperatures remaining below or near seasonal norms in many parts of the state, according to the latest weather bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department this morning.

Rajkot, however, witnessed sharper cooling, with the mercury dipping to 10.3°C, which was 2.5 degrees below normal, making it the coldest among the four major urban centres. Meanwhile, the state capital Gandhinagar reported a minimum of 13.8°C.
Elsewhere in Saurashtra and Kutch, colder conditions were more pronounced. Naliya in Kutch recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the state at just 6.0°C, nearly four degrees below normal. Day temperatures on January 11 remained mostly below normal across large parts of Gujarat, particularly in Kutch and Saurashtra. Bhuj and Naliya recorded maximum temperatures of 23.7°C and 24.1°C, respectively, both nearly four degrees below normal. Ahmedabad recorded a maximum of 26.7°C, one degree below average, while Baroda stood at 28.8°C, marginally below normal. Rajkot and Surat recorded maximum temperatures of 28.8°C and 30.4°C, respectively, close to their seasonal averages.
Relative humidity levels remained moderate across the state, with morning humidity ranging between 55 and 83 per cent at most stations, indicating cool but dry weather conditions. With no rainfall reported anywhere in Gujarat, the dry winter spell continues, and residents, particularly in Saurashtra and Kutch, are likely to experience chilly nights over the coming days.
