Gujarat Government Raises Daily Honorarium of Traffic Brigade Jawans to Rs 450
January 12, 2026
Gandhinagar: In a decision aimed at recognising the contribution of Traffic Brigade (TRB) jawans, the Gujarat government has increased their daily honorarium from Rs 300 to Rs 450. The revised honorarium comes into effect from today and will benefit over 10,000 TRB jawans and their families across the state.
The decision has been taken by the Home Department under the directions of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel and the guidance of Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Shri Harsh Sanghvi.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Harsh Sanghvi said that Traffic Brigade jawans play the role of “real soldiers” in managing traffic on the state’s roads. “Whether it is scorching heat or torrential rain, these jawans perform their duties with dedication to ensure the safety and convenience of citizens. The state government deeply values their hard work and commitment,” he said.
The Traffic Brigade system, initially started by the Traffic Education Trust in major cities such as Surat, Rajkot and Vadodara, has now been implemented across Gujarat. TRB jawans work in close coordination with the police and play a vital role in traffic regulation and road safety.
As per a Home Department resolution issued in 2018, TRB jawans were earlier paid an honorarium of Rs 300 per day. Considering the expanding scope of their responsibilities and their contribution to public safety, the state government has now enhanced the amount to Rs 450 per day.DeshGujarat

I think their salary or honorarium should be made at least 700 per day . This would be a long way in helping them commit to the actual goal of traffic management and safety
not required to raise the daily honorarium as traffic condition is so bad and no control in East Ahmedabad i.e. hathijan circle, narol circle, vatva, aslali , and entire ring road. it takes 2 hours form 50 km. what traffic control they have?
Infact thay should penalised for traffic jam.
It takes 2 to 2.30 hr Mahemdavad khataraj circle to Thaltej cross roads.
