Junagadh: A chartered accountant from Junagadh was allegedly kidnapped and threatened with death over a loan dispute before being rescued within hours by Junagadh City B Division police.
The complaint was lodged by Yash Maru of Bhodka village in Manavadar taluka against businessman Jay Odedra and others for abducting his brother-in-law, Milan Chauhan.
According to the FIR, Milan went missing after leaving work, and his mobile phone was switched off. Later that night, the family received a call from his phone in which he said he had been abducted and was being forced to arrange Rs 60 lakh by 11 am the next day, with threats not to approach the police.
Police said Milan, a loan consultant, was traced through technical surveillance after the family alerted authorities. A police team rushed towards Porbandar, where he was found abandoned on the Porbandar–Jamnagar road after the suspects fled, leaving their vehicle behind.
