Four held for cow slaughter in Gujarat; 12 cows rescued, 250 kg beef seized

Modasa: The town police in Modasa raided a farm in the Kasba Moghalawada area of Aravalli district and rescued 12 cattle, including cows, calves and a heifer. Police also seized around 250 kg of beef and arrested four persons in connection with the case, while seven others have been declared wanted.
According to police, the action was taken after information was received during routine patrolling that a resident, Arif Belim, along with his associates, was allegedly bringing cattle to his house, tying them up and slaughtering them for the illegal sale of beef. Acting on the tip-off, the police raided the premises and recovered beef along with slaughtering boards, meat-cutting knives, choppers and other equipment. The cattle were reportedly kept in an open space under cruel conditions.
A case has been registered under the Animal Protection Act, the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, and relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The arrested accused have been identified as Liaqat Hussain Dilawarkhan Baloy (33), Saddam Abdul Rauf Qureshi (30), Asfaq Hussain Ayubmiya Jamadar (60), and Irfana Ghulamnabi Belim (36), all residents of Modasa. Prime accused Arif Belim and six others are currently absconding, and further investigation is underway. DeshGujarat
